The story, Landlady, starts with Billy Weaver, trying to find a cheap hotel. The porter suggested The Bell and Dragon. Billy Weaver was 17 years old, wearing a navy-blue overcoat, a brown trilby hat, and a brown suit. He sees a printed notice that advertised a hotel. He sees it and then goes to check it out. He pressed the bell, and at once, a woman was standing there. She lets Billy inside her house.  The woman was about forty-five to fifty years old. Billy asks for a room, and she lets him pay for a room. She charged five and sixpence a night, including breakfast. That was amazingly cheap. She acts all kindly and helps him with everything. She shows Billy to his room, shows him what he could do, and offers him supper. And she tells him to sign a book that was in the sitting room, and she tells him that it is the law to sign the book. Billy thinks that she is a bit off her rocker, but she didn’t worry Billy at all. Then, after a few minutes of him unpacking, he went downstairs into the living room. The landlady wasn’t there, but the book was, so he wrote down his address and name. He reads the other two people who have signed the book, which was unusual. He recognizes the names of the two people who have signed the book. The landlady came up behind him and started talking with him, and carrying a tea tray. Then, Billy notices that the last person who has ever come here to stay, was from two years ago. And then the landlady offers him some tea and a ginger biscuit. Then he started to drink his tea. He notices the landlady’s pets. They were dead, but the landlady took out the insides of them and stuffed them, to make it look like that they were still alive. They noticed that the tea tasted of bitter almonds. Then, Billy asks the landlady that were there any guests here in the last two or three years. She replies with, “No, my dear, only you.”

Roald Dahl’s short story landlady, is about a young business man named Bill Weaver on a work trip. He goes to a hotel which is run by an old lady. Bill Weaver realizes that he is the only person to come to this hotel in 2 or 3 years. When confronted with this information the story becomes dark since he realizes that he was in danger.

Roald Dahl uses foreshadowing to makes us slowly realize that the woman may have killed the other two people that had visited her hotel. though the young man doesn’t realize much even when he tasted bitter stuff in his tea, or saw that no one besides him and two others have been to this hotel. the author foreshadows with the owner rushing to the door and being completely prepared for him. He then realizes that only him and two others have been there. Bill slowly realizes that the hotel has something wrong with it but doesn’t think that he is in danger.

In conclusion Roald Dahl uses foreshadowing to show that the hotel is weird and dangerous. He uses lots of different things that happen to show that the hotel was dangerous.

This short story is very interesting. If you would like to just read the actual story, read it, but for now, this is my summary.

It is about a nice seventeen-year-old boy named Billy Weaver and a landlady. It takes place in London, England at about 9 in the evening. he was walking along a street. It had no shops along the sides just house after houses. At one time, they were all luxurious, but now, the paint is peeling and the fronts were blotchy and cracked.

Suddenly, a window that was brightly lit caught his eye. A sign said “Bed and Breakfast.” he peered into the window and a brightly burning fire in the fireplace was the first thing he saw. then a dachshund cuddled up sleeping and a parrot in a cage. He was about to go when he saw the sign again, “Bed and Breakfast.” he turned around and before he knew it he was pressing the doorbell. Before he could take his hand off the doorbell, the door swung open.

A woman was standing in the doorway. she invited Billy to come and stay there for five and sixpences. he was drawn into the door automatically. She helps him with everything that is needed. When he was done, he went downstairs to fill out the guest book as instructed. There were only two other entries. Christopher Mullhound and George W. Temple.

Billy had seen those names somewhere maybe the newspapers and he thought they were somehow related. The last entry was two years ago and the other was three years ago. then the landlady offered him a cup of tea and some ginger biscuits before bed. when he sat down, he noticed that the parrot wasn’t alive and nor were the dachshund.

Elon Musk is one of the richest people in the world. His motivation speech is widely used throughout the video-sharing platform youtube. In one of his appearances on TV, he said to work 100 hours a week just to be ahead of your rival. Also, you probably don’t know this, but I have my own business working just an hour a day. (and some emails) I’m usually pretty lazy, just using discord and playing Minecraft when my mom allows me to. I’m usually in the mindset of being satisfied with getting $50 an hour every day, but I usually don’t work more than one hour, which is like 1/8 the typical work time. So, if I work like “hell”, how would that benefit me?

First off, this would benefit my earnings. I don’t care about getting too much, but I do enjoy earning and hosting giveaways. But say if I worked for two hours a day. I would be earning $100, which is a ton considering that a worker who earns minimum wage would earn that much. So if I work as “hell” 100 hours a week I would be working for 20 hours making $1000 every day. So, the earnings would be immense.

Also, if I work like hell, this will probably shake off my laziness that I have. This would be good so I can focus on earning more. Also, I will lose my habit of laying on my bed. So, if I work like hell, I will be able to lose some of my bad habits.

Lastly, this would be a little bad to me because I will not have enough sleep. Also, I will not have game time or social interaction. I will also have a bad throat talking for over twenty hours straight.

To sum it up, to work like Hell would help you in the short term, but not in the long run. This would help because you can earn more. Also you can shake off some bad habits. But, it will make you sleep deprived, have no free time, and hurt your throat talking for so long.

Elon Musk is a famous scientist that invented Tesla and has inventions on space. While Talking to Elon Musk, he says there are ten rules of success. The ten rules are: 1. Work Like Hell 2. . I think from the 10 rules what people now days need to work on is 1. Work Like Hell and 5.Take Risks.

One of the rules from the 10 rules I think that people should work on now days is ‘work like hell’. Now days, people often get distracted while working on things, often things seem more interesting then the work they are doing. Without focusing on the task everything would go slower and its wasting time. So people should ‘work like a hell’ (work hard) on all their task and not get distracted so easily. This also means that getting work done more nicely and having more time. People get distracted by other things but if they finish the work, they could do other things without thinking about the work.

Another rule from the 10 rules of success is take risks. Taking risks may mean having certain percentages of failing. Though without failing, its harder to have success. Sometimes failing could help people find success. So taking risk is also really important. Today people like to stay in their own comfy zone, they don’t like to try anything new, or in other words ‘take risks’. Because people are not taking risk, so they are doing the exact same things over and over again, without changing. Without changing, its hard to have any success in things.

From the points above I think the two points in the rules of success that I think people today should work on is work like a hell and taking risks. Although I think people should work on those two points more, other points are also really important. If someone succeed at doing all the 10 rules, then I think they would definitely be successful.

As technology steadily increases, it is also interfering with nature or nature observation. Technology is something that people are depending on more and more but nature is something that we shouldn’t get in the way of. How are we supposed to balance these two?

A month ago, Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched 60 satellites to further complete their Starlink project. They want to create a constellation of satellites around Earth to provide easy internet access to people around the world. However, the Sun reflecting on the satellites makes them very bright. These new batch of satellites have visors and other devices to minimize the reflections but scientists/astronomers have said that they will still block their observations of the universe.

I believe that this new technology is acceptable except that they should invent more techniques so that the satellites won’t disturb the night sky as much. For example, Starlink satellites are supposed to give internet access to people who don’t have it. The satellites could just be positioned above the areas that don’t have internet, not the whole world. SpaceX could also work with astronomers to figure out which places the satellites could be placed at so that they give minimum blockage of the important places astronomers are observing. If technology is being used to make people’s lives easier, it should also be used to protect nature.

Did you know that only 59% of the world population has access to internet? The internet is a great tool for all uses, learning, entertainment, exercising, (work out videos) etc. but only 4.57  billion out of the 7.8 billion people on Earth have access to it. Billionaire Elon Musk will try to change that, with a project called ‘Starlink’. This project will launch hundreds and hundreds of Satellites into space, and have them provide internet.

After launching all the satellites, there will be coverage in every corner of the Earth, but the project will be very expensive, at more than an estimated 9.8 billion dollars, and will take around 5 years. Musk says that 400 satellites will provide basic coverage, and 800 will provide moderate coverage. The satellites will offer affordable and fast internet, and He also says that the earnings might help fund a future city on mars. Satellite internet has been tried before, but due to the fact that there were very few satellites, the coverage was very slow and patchy, so it was not used.

There are many good things about the Starlink project, but there are also downsides. One downside is that after we launch all of the starlink satellites, they will hinder our ability to see the sky, which will hurt scientists and stargazers. Another downside of the project is that “The orbiting satellites can also interfere with the workings of ground-based radio telescopes that experts use to see more distant phenomena.” (Elon Musk’s SpaceX will launch another 60 Starlink internet satellites into orbit around the Earth tonight bringing the total number to 482) There are both pros and cons to this project, so what do you think? Musk was born on June 28, 1971, in Pretoria, South Africa. As a child, Musk was lost in his daydreams and was very curious. Elon was 12 when he sold his first software: a game he created called Blastar. Musk was short, introverted and bookish. He was bullied until he was 15 and went through a growth spurt and learned how to defend himself with karate and wrestling. He graduated at the University of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree in economics and stayed for a second bachelor’s degree in physics. After leaving Penn, Musk headed to Stanford University to pursue a PhD. Success is something that everyone strives for, but only some achieve it. Although success is so important, some people do not know how to get it.

Success for most people is wholeness. A whole person is happy, healthy, peaceful, loved, appreciated, giving, fulfilled, and compassionate. However, many other people could define success as something different. One might think success is being rich, or another person might define success as not having to work at all. Success is something different for everyone, but it will still always be a goal someone wants to accomplish.

Success is incredibly important to everyone. It is what drives people forward, something everyone seeks, something which if one fails to achieve, it can be quite devastating. It is important, since success means achieving the goals and dreams people see in the distant future. Success also drives progress, as being successful makes people want to achieve more, to progress more, and therefore, the world progresses as well.

Some people may wonder how they can become successful in life. According to Elon Musk’s 10 Rules for Success, you have to work very hard, be able to critical think, take risks, seek criticism, and work with great people. Some other rules are also to be helpful to the society, have a great product or service, overcome opposing opinions, don’t follow the trends, and have a high pain threshold. These can help one become more successful in their life.
