Beethoven’s biography

Beethoven is a musical composer that is said to have music that is confusing and surprising. His music even includes a strong power full of energy. His life was full of ups and downs making it interesting.

Beethoven was born in Germany. His father and grandfather were singers, which made his family a musical one. He started learning piano when he was four-years-old, with his father as the mentor. When he grew older, he became an assistant organist, and also played viola, apart of the violin family, for a Prince’s orchestra. The prince enjoyed it and began to live in a musical environment. Beethoven moved to Vienna when he was 22 to study with Haydn. He thought Hayden was the greatest composer of all time, so having this opportunity for him was like a dream come true. Because of Beethoven’s gifts in playing the piano, he was surrounded by the people of Venice during his career. Beethoven made himself as a famous piano player but wasn’t known of his structure yet. In his twenties, he started to hear large ringing sounds and lose his hearing ability. Beethoven was devastated after understanding the news of becoming deaf. He started thinking about committing suicide, but after thinking more about it, he decided to continue living for music.

Beethoven evolved as a composer, creating more heroic works explaining struggle and revolution in the central part of his life. An example of one of his revolutionary pieces is his third symphony which is dedicated to the leader Napoleon. Beethoven started growing his attitude around this time. He started dressing informally and was very rude towards people. He cared very little about how he looked like. He also didn’t like conversations because of his hearing problems. Some people thought his attitude came out because he didn’t find a spouse yet. He was a stubby man and would often stomp around Vienna, deep in thought. Later, different Princes gave Beethoven a lifetime payment, but only if he stayed in Vienna. He immediately agreed without hesitation and settled there for the rest of his life.

The final years of Beethoven’s life were very hard for him. He was almost completely deaf, adding to that, his attitude and appearance were getting worse. Most of the time during his last years of life, he tried gaining custody of his nephew because his father died. Beethoven wasn’t good with financial things and used up a lot of his money resources battling with his brother’s wife. He eventually lost and lost his ability to lead orchestras. He composed his last songs at this point, which shocked many of those who loved music. He became ill during the last years of his life, with rheumatic fever, and other illnesses. He pushed himself to write the 10th symphony, right after Ode to Joy (9th symphony) but didn’t finish in time. While he was in the process of dying, he couldn’t sleep at night nor drink and was paralyzed. Beethoven, sadly, died after four operations on a stomach wound which eventually got infected. Many mourners went to his funeral to say farewell to the successful composer.

Beethoven can teach people many things according to his actions. For example, he didn’t commit suicide because he thought he would continue living for his passion, music. This lesson may teach others to always live for their dreams because giving up will not do anything. His music has heavily inspired others to play piano, maybe other people will continue to spread positivity around.

Mozart’s Biography

Mozart is one of the greatest musicians of all time. He was a child prodigy at the age of four along with the rest of his family. at the age of four Mozart repeated classical pieces perfectly when his father gave him the pieces. He even started playing the violin. If he could do such astonishing things at such a young age, think about what he was like when he grew a couple more years older.

When Mozart was at the age of 17, he got a job as a court musician where it was a great opportunity to earn money for his family. Back in Mozart’s time, life was hard because there weren’t any transportation other than carriages. And wages weren’t as high as nowadays. During his time as a court musicians, Mozart thought that operas weren’t performed enough, because he wasn’t happy, he found another job! This job, a court organist, was worse than the other one because he was treated like a slave, but couldn’t quit the job because his employer wouldn’t let him. He finally left the job and felt relieved but was still humiliated.

When he grew a little older, he went to Vienna and was a keyboardist. Vienna loved him very much and appreciated him in the city, which was better than his previous jobs overall. While enjoying Vienna, he even won the heart of who he loves truly, Constanze Weber! Years later, he started performing concerts and had piano concertos reaching out to him to go to their theater and perform. He started to earn money and had a luxurious apartment with his wife.

Sadly, he started to perform less in public and loose his fame and struggled for the next years because Austria was at war. The new operas Mozart wrote were also not admired by the people of Vienna and he was going through a money drought along with other composers. He decided to go to other places to try and make money but there was no luck. Eventually, he started to get back his debt by submitting piece by piece and doing hard work. People liked him again and his life was saved!

In Prague, after Mozart performed one of his pieces, he started to become very sick and kept vomiting. His wife kept watch over him while he was writing his last piece for his funeral. Mozart, unfortunately, died for an unknown reason. There are many theories where people have thought about the cause, the most popular is a rheumatic fever (a sickness that affects the heart, joints, and skin).

Misinformation

Misinformation are similar to rumors. Rumors are said to be dangerous and false information given out from people to others. Misinformation is dangerous because it can cause someone to die and lose the image of another. In this Ted talk, Mr. Aral gave an example that Syrian hackers gave a tweet that Obama was injured by 2 explosions. there were 4,000 re-tweets in less than 5 minutes. This is really crazy and is dangerous and maybe ruined Obama’s image in being a president. The rumor was spread really fast because the title caught attention to many people.

If rumors continue to spread, people will be against each other and argue/debate. The world won’t be peaceful anymore and everyone will be in different groups, divided. Spreading rumors aren’t good at all, they ruin the reputation of others and separate people from each other disagreeing on different things.

When collaborating, don’t be so defensive

Collaborating can take place in group projects where you cooperate with different students and present your project. During the making of this process, you will need to communicate with each other. Communicating can be shown by personality. When shown by personality there are two. The first one is the one willing to contribute to the project without any problems with the team members. The other one, is being rude to the members and not cooperating.

Farmers conducted and experiment on putting different chickens together and seeing how they will react. Once this experiment was done, they noticed that there were two different teams, the red team and the green team. The green team is the team of chickens that don’t attack each other and seem to be cooperating in making eggs for the farmers. The second team, the red team, is the group of chickens that don’t seem to be cooperating with each other and peck the other members. They peck off their feathers and turn out to be a bald chicken in the result.

This experiment can tall us not to be so defensive because being defensive would only make it worse and you won’t get anything done. If we work together as a team, benefits will come with a better presentation, better things to say, and better things to entertain the people you are presenting to. In this essay, you are being taught to cooperate with your team members properly without getting sidetracked and argue about unnecessary things.

A 3-D robot that maps out a mouse’s brain

Researchers have been studying neuroscience on mice and have finally mapped out how their brain looks like. Normally, researchers would map the brain out by using tissues at a time. The way how the Allen Institute broke up the brain was by using 3-D pixels. After using the pixels, they connected them together and got the idea of how the brain of a mouse looks like.

The research team used an average of 1,675 mice to reassure that the diagram was accurate. You might be wondering, if it was easy to diagram how the brain of a mouse looks like. In fact, it is! The structure of the mouse’s brain is similar to the human brain. They can also be trained and breed easily.

The Allen Institute also compared their results to the 1900s era to sequence other animal’s DNA for the first time. This can help bring the understanding of neuroscience to a new easier level. In the future more generations in front of Gen. Z would figure out easier.

The robot that can defeat COVID

COVID is a major problem around the world with people thinking about a cure for it. COVID-19 is not just any virus, it’s one that is unlike any other because when you are diagnosed, you don’t show any symptoms. a virus like this could be deadly because you might pass it around when you are in public. There was no cure until a robot, name Violet, came by.

Conor McGinn is a robotic engineer that made a robot, called Stevie, to bring entertainment to people. This robot can help with elderly because they usually have their spouses away or their family relatives busy, so having this robot can bring happiness to them.

Mr. McGinn and his team decided to make Stevie into a robot that would cure COVID. Mr. McGinn and his staff decided to pay a visit to a doctor that studies microbiology. They wondered whether it was possible to use ultra-violet light to kill pathogens without harming staff in the residential areas.

Mr. McGinn and his staff realized it was possible for making the robot! So, they made Violet. Violet, has been designed to be fit in compacted spaces, like bathrooms. It also has a shield on its back to be avoided while its working. Violet has been a great invention and has saved many lives from being infected.

Seventh Grade by Gary Soto

Seventh grade could be a grade full of drama like how showed in the story. There are three points that I would want to talk about.

The first point is that I would compare to Victor by the way he acts. Instead of having a crush, I usually try to impress my friends. One incident that Victor did that was the most relatable, is answering the teacher’s question because he thinks he knows it when, in fact, he doesn’t. This usually occurred to me when I was younger to show off my skills, I wasn’t always correct but I never cared what people thought of me when I got it wrong.

Next, I think the teacher’s story during his teen years is very thoughtful for the author to write. This scene is what explains to me why he understood easily about what Victor was trying to do and knew exactly what he was doing. His story of impressing a girl he liked with borrowed cars is similar with how Victor stood up trying to answer the question asked by the teacher to impress Teresa.

Lastly, when Teresa asked Victor to help her study French, Victor was very stiff. He didn’t want to deal with looking in Teresa’s eyes while talking to her. Once Teresa asked him to help her out with French, he decided to put his effort in learning French for real by studying about the language. By doing this, it shows how affectionate he is towards the people he cares for.

My opinion on “Landlady” by Road Dahl

After reading this short story, i thought what I would’ve done in Bill’s situation for meeting the landlady. She was creepy in some sort which would’ve made me feel cautious. If I were Bill to check the registration list and see only two names, I would’ve been wondering, “Why would there only be two names? If there were only two names, does that mean there were bad reviews?” I would’ve been a little bit more cautious.

The reason why i would be cautious by the moment i step inside is because the woman opened the way a little too fast. She opened the door as if she was waiting for Bill to arrive…like she knew he was coming. This wouldn’t be normal because normally it would take half a minute to open the door. Like I said, seeing only two visitors on the check in list would be a little bit suspicious. When there are only two visitors to the hotel and when they had sort of an analogy. If Bill came in the hotel, what if the same thing that the other two gentlemen experienced happen to him?

If such things happens to him, I think another person would come to the hotel, because in order to finish an analogy, there needs to be two words. but in this case, names. Maybe there wouldn’t have to be an analogy for this to happen. But, my theory for what would happen to him has to do with the analogy he said.

COVID’s cousins

Scientists were eager to find some new diseases from bats. As they gear up in the protective gears they take off to a cave with many bats. They then collect the urine from the bats and later do some research on them. This is one way to discover diseases.

As scientists determine whether or not there were any new diseases to be found, they managed to discover 6 new diseases related to COVID-19! Luckily, they do not show any harm to the human race, therefore we are safe.

This century, from what I’ve learned, most of the zoonotic diseases that occurred have come from bats. Since bats have strong immune systems, they won’t be able to be infected. Research shows that bats were the original host of SARS.

All of these information about bats would tell me to stay away from them, because I won’t know what kind of diseases they might hold that may affect me. If I were to get infected, there might not be a cure for it yet and without knowing that i have it may have me spread the dangerous disease around. This might cause many deaths since we already have the corona virus spreading.

How much Sleep Do You Really Need?

Sleep is important for your health. Having lack of sleep will bring down your health and affect you ver easily which means you have to have the right amount of sleep. These days, people are shouting out to sleep more or we will get more dumb and will also get Alzheimer’s and heart attacks. This is not good at all.

Scientists did an experiment on 1600 patients and is said that majority couldn’t think properly. Sleep deprivation also disrupts your mood and will make you a little more grumpier than usual.

A sleep foundation did some research in 2015 to find out how many hours of sleep you need. They came up with the answer of teens having 8 – 10 hours of sleep and “anywhere from 7-11 may be more appropriate” (Savvy, 1). Seniors around 65 or older could sleep from 5-9 hours. You may be wondering why the seniors don’t need as much sleep as younger people need. As you get older, your body needs different sleep ranges.

This essay could maybe supply you with the knowledge of how much sleep you may need so you may be healthier. This may also tell you to be careful of your sleep schedule and sleep at the right time to be healthy.
