How Reading can change someone’s life.

Many people think that reading is a very important thing to do. In life reading can lead to really good things. Such as becoming a very skilled reader, and a very talented writer like Jacqueline Woodson.

Jacqueline Woodson is a very talented writer. When Jacqueline Woodson was a little kid, she had the passion to read. Soon later it taught her more about writing. In the ted talk “What Reading Slowly Taught me About Writing.”  Talked about how she started to write from her reading.

Reading is a really good skill to have in someone’s life. It doesn’t matter who but it is a very good skill. When someone reads really slowly he or she will get more in depth in the story. Sometimes even feel like they are in the sense. This happens to Jacqueline Woodson. She was a kid that read very slowly. Dragging her hands under the words she was reading. Unlike her sisters. They would read fast and wouldn’t get the important details that are in the story.

When Jacqueline Woodson said “Slow reading will lead to deep, committed friendship. The friends may be fewer but they will be very close.” This means that when you are reading and getting more deeper in the story you get closer to the characters. The part “The friends may be fewer.” Means when she was reading the story there weren’t many characters. But she knows the characters well. This shows that when she kept on reading in her life she kept on getting better. Soon later she became a very talented writer and started to write books for everyone all around to world to read and enjoy.
