Social Isolation

Very few people find joy in isolation, as human beings are social animals. It is their nature to do so, since their lives depend on other humans the moment they were born. Having to be forced into social isolation can be very harmful to people, and can have a lot of negative side effects. In fact, long-term solitary isolation is considered as a form of torture in many countries all over the world. Social isolation is very dangerous for one to go through alone and without any form of communication.

Social isolation is very hazardous to ones health. There are many negative health effects from isolation, some examples include chronic health conditions, a weakened immune system, and depression and anxiety. Social isolation can also cause high levels of stress, and can even lead to mental health problems later in life. Since humans depend on others for survival, forced social isolation will deprive people of their social interactions with others, causing them to have poor mental health.

Right now, many people say social distancing is very important. That is true, social distancing is necessary to slow down the spread of COVID-19, but self isolation is still very harmful when one does not have someone to communicate with. During these tough situations, people are staying healthy by talking to others online. However, for people who are alone or have limited access to electronic devices, social isolation can be very tough and can cause negative effects on their mental health.

Social isolation is very damaging to one mental health, since there are many negative side effects of isolation. Right now during this pandemic, it is important to stay connected to one another. Being alone during these times will only be harmful to ones health.
