The story, \u201cHearts and Hands\u201d, is about two men on a train, one the marshal, one the malefactor, who meet a woman, called Ms. Fairchild, if I remember correctly, and distinctly knows the criminal, Mr. Easton, though the story does not tell who is the felon and who is the justice-server. Also, Ms. Fairchild is clueless about who is the criminal and who is the officer and assumes that Mr. Easton is the marshal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The impression that Mr. Easton is \u201c…of handsome presence with a bold, frank countenance and manner\u201d, and the other man \u201c…a ruffled, glum-faced person, heavily built and roughly dressed.\u201d Who knew, that Mr. Easton is the offender, and the man who looked like a bad guy was actually the marshal! Thus the story proves, \u201cDon\u2019t judge a book by its cover.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lots of times the story is short, but I could still get a lot out of it. the story was adequate and fun to read, and had a very interesting setting. I have not read that many books that are interesting and take place in a train, forget about \u201cAround the World in 80 days\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The short story is kind of a cliffhanger, because at the end Ms. Fairchild has just realized that Mr. Easton is the malefactor, and we don\u2019t really know what happened to him. I like these stories because they get you thinking about what might happen next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
