I think the lottery in \u201cThe Lottery\u201d\u00a0 is not a good tradition because the town stones one innocent person every year.\u00a0 One\u2019s fate is decided on the piece of paper that they draw.\u00a0 If one draws his or her own name, they will be stoned by the townsfolk, including their children.\u00a0 Imagine being murdered by your own family and friends! I strongly think that this \u201clottery\u201d should not be allowed because it is an unfair way to decide if one lives or not.\u00a0 One must be very unlucky to be stoned, for I think it is devastating for one to see their loved ones kill them.\u00a0 Also, if the town kills one person every year, they may have less and less people in their town until only one person is left.\u00a0 I think this because if they kill someone who still hasn\u2019t had any daughters or sons, they may kill a whole generation.\u00a0 Next, I think killing one for no specific reason is totally absurd.\u00a0 It’s as if one is killing their friend just because they lost a bet or etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
